Academic Success and First Year Programs Receive $20,000 Grant
Shaw University's Academic Success and First Year Programs received a $20,000 grant from the North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities Independent College Access Network (NCICU ICAN). The funds will be used to support the university's Summer Bridge Program, a pre-college program designed to successfully transition students from high school to college through the continuous development of educational and social skills.  The mission of the NCICU is to support, represent and advocate for North Carolina independent higher education. It awards grants to private institutions to assist in implementing new initiatives and to enhance existing advising, college success, and pre-college programs. Shaw University received the maximum award amount for any college or university.
