Technology and Media Services Librarian/Responsibilities:  The position plans, directs, and supervises activities relevant to the operation of the Library's Media Center. The position coordinates automated services for the Library. The position collects, develops and manages all audiovisual and digital collections; it actively critiques and contributes to the Library's website and portal presence, and designs and implements digital initiatives; selects and purchases multimedia materials and software; plans, implements and manages the Library's technology projects and services. The position supervises plans, recommends, analyzes and coordinates the automation, communication and on-line systems within the Library; increase of library computers and the need for end user support has taken a greater role in the Library and Support in the area of the Library's SirsiDynix on-line catalog system has increased with the ongoing process of software upgrades. Extensive background in technology and media services combined with several years of experience in a related field. Supervisory and media library experience in an academic library. Knowledge of library systems and expertise in the handling of audio-visual materials and equipment. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with Library and Information Technology staff. Possess initiative, creativity, and ability to work effectively in a changing organizational and technological environment.

Requirements:  Master's degree in Library Science.

Technical Library Services Librarian/Responsibilities: The position is to plan, organize, and supervise the departmental activities in a wise and efficient manner so that the goals of the department and the library as a unit can be accomplished; responsible for overseeing content management, cataloging, and metadata of the library's print and online books, serials, audio visuals, electronic collections, packages, databases, etc. and also contributes to goal setting and long term planning. Two to three years of professional experience working with integrated library systems in a client/server environment. Experience in cataloging a variety of print and non-print formats in an online environment. A minimum of two years increasingly responsible relevant supervisory experience. Experience using OCLC connexion and SirsiDynix interfaces. Demonstrated knowledge of cataloging standards, practices and products, including but not limited to AACR2 Library of Congress classification and subject heading schemes, Dewey Decimal classification, Library of Congress Rule interpretations and MARC formats. Familiarity with acquisitions and ILL processes. Commitment to enhancing public access to library resources. Strong analytical and decision making skills. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills.

Requirements:  Master's Degree in Library Science

Position is Exempt from the Personnel Act. (EPA Non-Faculty)

Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Under Federal requirements (Fair Credit Reporting Act), ECSU will conduct a criminal background report for all final candidates for all positions and appointments.  Credit and/or driving record reports will be completed on final candidates for positions and appointments that have financial or driving responsibilities as part of the job duties.
