Sales and marketing program named top program by foundation
The Tuskegee University College of Business and Information Science's sales and marketing program recently was named a top university sales program by the University Sales Education Foundation, part of the Dayton Foundation. The program was reviewed for curriculum, university recognition and placement rates of students in internships.
"The grounding the students receive in liberal arts coupled with the applied science of business undergird the curriculum and help to develop strong sales acumen that positions the students for immediate success," said Tejinder Sara, dean of the College of Business and Information Science. "The recognition from the Sales Education Foundation, an organization comprised of practicing industry professionals and academics, will bolster our sales and marketing program's standing with the sales industry and its peer academic institutions."
According to management department head Faye Hall Jackson, the program typically graduates nearly 40 students annually. Many students earn dual degrees with concentrations in business administration, hospitality management or accounting.
"This recognition from the Sales Education Foundation underscores the work of our faculty that prepares graduates for immediate entry into the workplace or matriculation into graduate study," Hall Jackson said. "As represented by our placement rates in internships and full-time positions, this award further demonstrates the readiness of our students to compete for employment positions in the sales industry."
The University Sales Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation established to promote university level educational programs in sales through the provision of scholarships, the creation of educational materials, and other methods.
