CCC’s student union gets new ATM, convenience store
The student union is designed to serve as the hub for student-life experiences, and Coahoma Community College is reinvigorating that mission this semester with a few special projects.

The layout of the student Grill, located inside of CCC’s Zee A Barron Student Union, has been altered to accommodate a new “convenience store” that will conveniently offer Tigers personal items and other necessities right here on campus.

Also, a new ATM machine has been conveniently placed on the first floor of the student union.

“We’re seeing some exciting changes on our campus,” said Karen Done, director of enrollment and student services. “This includes offering added services to better accommodate our students—especially those living on campus.”

The renovations for the convenience store kicked off last semester and are expected to finish up this week. Done said the new store is projected to be fully stocked and open for business by mid-February. Future plans include setting up a method to allow students to purchase items using their student ID, she said.

“One of the President’s (Dr. Valmadge Towner) focal points is providing superior student services,” said Done. “Keeping this in mind, we’re implementing projects like the new convenience store to ensure that all the needs of our students are met.”

Done said these projects are just one of the many ways the Division of Enrollment and Student Services works to accommodate students.

“These new additions, coupled with a whole host of other services we’re providing in the Office of Enrollment in Student Services—tutoring, career readiness service, counseling service—helps to meet the needs of our students while they’re here on campus,” she said.
