The Digital Library Federation Offers 10 Fellowships Across 5 Categories to Attend the DLF Forum in Baltimore, Maryland

Application deadline: Tuesday, May 31, 11:59pm Eastern Time USA.

In the spirit of the Digital Library Federation's (DLF) long-standing commitment to being an open, inclusive community, welcoming members from all parts of the digital library, museum, archives, and cultural heritage sectors, and making every effort to connect conversations that extend beyond our organizational borders, through Forum Fellowships DLF welcomes new, dynamic voices and valuable perspectives that have enriched our events and larger community.

Special Highlight: Forum HBCU Fellowships (Two Awards)

About the Opportunity
In 2017, CLIR partnered with the HBCU Library Alliance to host a Liberal Arts Colleges (LACs) + Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) Pre-Conference preceding the DLF Forumhttps://forum2017.diglib.org/lac-hbcu/. Since then, the CLIR/HBCU Library Alliance partnership has expanded beyond the Forum with projects that include the Authenticity Projecthttps://www.diglib.org/opportunities/authenticity-project/ and season 3 of CLIR's Material Memory podcasthttps://material-memory.clir.org/. We're thrilled to commemorate the five years since we welcomed the inaugural cohort of HBCU Forum Fellows and to honor our ongoing partnership with this year's DLF Forum HBCU Fellowships.

Eligibility Requirements
Open to White House-designated Historically Black College or University (HBCU)https://sites.ed.gov/whhbcu/one-hundred-and-five-historically-black-colleges-and-universities/-affiliated librarians, faculty, and other employees of HBCUs and current HBCU students interested in library and information careers.

Fellowship Benefits and Expectations
All fellowships include the following:

  • Complimentary DLF Forum registration.
  • A complimentary room at the conference hotel for three nights (October 9-11).
  • A stipend for travel and incidentals ($650).
  • Invitations to special networking opportunities.
  • The option to present a short lightning talk during the conference.
  • In return, Fellows agree to share a brief (500 word) reflection on their experiences to be published on the DLF blog after the Forum.

Applicants will not receive more than one award but may apply for as many awards as they are eligible. Preference will be given to those who have never received a Forum Fellowship. The DLF Forum Fellowship Committee, made up of community volunteers, will make award decisions. Applicants will be notified of their status by mid-July.
