Miles College News August 7, 2019 MILES COLLEGE HOSTS AN OFFICIAL PRESS CONFERENCE WELCOMING INTERIM PRESIDENT BOBBIE KNIGHT TO THE GOLDEN BEAR FAMILY WHEN: THURSDAY, AUGUST 8, 2019 WHERE: CAMPUS OF MILES COLLEGE - WELCOME CENTER 5500 MYRON MASSEY BLVD., FAIRFIELD, AL 35064 EVENT TIME: 10:00 AM/CDT - 11:00 AM/CDT FAIRFIELD, AL - On Wednesday, July 17, 2019 for the first-time in Miles College's 121 Years, the Board of Trustees made history when they unanimously named Ms. Bobbie Knight as the Interim President of Miles College. Ms. Knight became the first woman in the history of Miles College to hold this distinguished title; but most importantly, Ms. Knight's remarkable corporate and civic career, represents the ethics/morals values needed to lead Miles College into its next chapter of greatness. On Thursday, August 8, 2019, Miles College will host an Official Press Conference welcoming Incoming Interim President Bobbie Knight to the Miles College Golden Bear Community. The Press Conference will begin at 10:00 AM/CDT on the Miles College Campus at the Welcome Center. This press conference is an opportunity for the Birmingham and Fairfield community & surrounding communities, the Miles College Faculty and Staff, Students, Alumni, and the media to hear from Incoming Interim President Bobbie Knight. Ms. Knight will give a brief overview of her leadership vision for Miles College. Dr. George T. French Jr. (14th President of Miles College) will address the Miles College family as he bids a farewell to the college and welcomes his successor who will take office September 1.
