Summer Pre-Law Programs A Great Option for Students

Students looking to jump-start their careers and improve their chances for success are wise to take advantage of promising opportunities for summer study. Rufus and Janice Wilson College of Liberal Arts students Devin James (criminal justice), Malinia Karriem (political science), Qu'teasha Lovett (criminal justice) and Ania White (international studies/affairs) have chosen to participate in FIU Law Path, a pre-law program that provides pre-law programming, experiential training, and mentoring support to a cohort of South Floridian undergraduates at strategic stages of their academic and professional development. FIU Law Path's curriculum will include foundational law school courses, clinical offerings, and LSAT preparation. FIU Law is South Florida's only public law school.

Sydney Brown (Political Science) will attend Howard University Pre-Law Scholars Summer Enrichment Program (PLSEP), a pipeline program designed to help students, primarily African-American/Black students from other HBCUs, gain admission into law school and succeed once there. Students will also have daily LSAT preparation with Kaplan and other enrichment opportunities that expose them to the full spectrum of the law profession.
