Copyright First Responders Cohort I

REGISTRATION EXTENDED THROUGH JANUARY 12, 2024!

The HBCU Digital Library Trust, in collaboration with the Copyright First Respondershttps://hbcudigitallibrarytrust.us21.list-manage.com/track/click?u=afefe903d3b9b976cfab73ee1&id=84d4edfcdd&e=67cfc02200 (CFR) program and Harvard Library, is pleased to invite administrators and staff from all HBCU libraries to participate in a free and interactive professional development training on practical library and archival copyright. This training is invaluable to librarians and archivists considering digitization or other projects with copyright questions or concerns.

The HBCU Digital Library Trust Copyright First Responder Cohort I will be led by Kyle K. Courtney - Director of Copyright and Information Policy at Harvard Library. Cohort participants will attend six live, Zoom sessions over twelve weeks during Spring 2024. Sessions meet every other Friday for 2 hours beginning at 10am ET / 9am CT.

Upon completion of the training program, Cohort members will join a network of copyright experts across U.S. cultural institutions.

Cohort virtual meeting dates:

  • January 19, 2024
  • February 2, 2024
  • February 16, 2024
  • March 1, 2024
  • March 15, 2024
  • March 29, 2024

While multiple staff members from all HBCU libraries are welcome and encouraged to participate, each person should register individually.
