Claflin University Fundraising Brochure Receives National Advertising Award
The case statement publication for Claflin University's $96.4 million capital campaign was recently awarded a gold medal in the miscellaneous category at the 27th Annual Educational Advertising Awards for schools under 2,000 students.
The Campaign for Claflin University: Imagine the Possibilities is a publication designed to inform potential donors about the institution and various academic enhancements, capital projects and endowment building the fundraising campaign would fund. It was first released in late June during the public launch of the campaign.
The case statement was produced and published by the Massachusetts-based Carnegie Communications, LLC in close collaboration with the Claflin Office of Communications and Marketing. It features a detailed outline of the campaign's purpose and goals, messages from President Dr. Henry N. Tisdale and campaign chair James A. Bennett and top notch photography of the campus and students.
Vice President for Institutional Advancement Rev. Whittaker V. Middleton lauded the work of Carnegie and his staff in creating the case statement which won the award.
"The Campaign for Claflin University is a vitally important publication as we aim to position ourselves among the top undergraduate teaching and research institutions in the world," said Middleton. "This aesthetically pleasing and informative case statement reflects the vision of the most ambitious fundraising campaign in our 143-year history. I would like to extend congratulations to Carnegie Communications and our dedicated staff in the Office of Communications and Marketing for capturing this prestigious acknowledgment."
The Educational Advertising Awards - the largest such competition in the country - are sponsored annually by the Higher Education Marketing Report. This year, more than 2,900 entries were received for over 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools across the nation.
Only 200 entries received the gold award designation. Other awards classifications included silver, bronze and merit.
Entries were judged by a national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, industry professionals the editorial board of the Higher Education Marketing Report.
Carnegie President Joe Moore said the acknowledgement was a great honor.
"We are very honored and proud to be recognized by this award. Thanks to the Higher Education Marketing Report for the recognition and to Claflin University for their phenomenal collaboration on this project," said Moore.
