Campus Safety Town Hall Meeting

Students shared perspectives on campus security and explored plans to increase a sense of personal safety during a town hall meeting on April 13.

The North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Social Work Departmenthttp://www.nccu.edu/academics/sc/socialsciences/socialwork senior seminar class hosted a campus safety town hall meeting to hear input from the NCCU campus community. Audience members participated in a panel discussion and interactive polling via text messages on issues of campus safety.

NCCU Chancellor Debra Saunders-White attended the event to hear the students' feedback.

"Our objective is to bring awareness and generate ideas that would increase campus safety," said Wendi Wright, a senior studying social work and project leader for the senior seminar class. "We would like to continue facilitating forums that will generate discussion on keeping our campus safe."
