Subject: Director's Dialogue/Shop Talk - Thursday, June 14, 10:00

Greetings Colleagues,

I trust you're well.  Today I'm celebrating the nation's first stamp to honor an African American.  In 1940, the Post Office Department issued a stamp honoring educator Booker T. Washington (1856-1915) as part of its Famous Americans Series. Today, the United States Postal Service (USPS) regularly honors African-Americans and their various contributions to the nation and the world.

Director's Dialogue

Mark your calendars now for the Thursday, June 14, 10:00 - 10:15 ET Director's Dialogue. Using the Adobe Connect software, I'll update you on the activities of the HBCU Library Alliance and respond to your chat items.

Additionally, I'm introducing a brief "Shop Talk" segment where a director will share hot topics from their library. Cynthia Henderson, HBCU Library Alliance Board Vice-Chair and Executive Director of the Louis Stokes Health Sciences Library at Howard University, is my first Shop Talk guest.

Since we will meet via webinar, let me know your intentions by Thursday, June 7th.  Paste this link http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CDRSTPY into your address bar, enter your name and email address so that we can forward log-in information. A meeting reminder will be posted as we get closer to the meeting date.

A Director's Dialogue/Shop Talk is scheduled for Thursday, September 20th, 10:00 ET.  Let me know if you're interested in presenting a brief Shop Talk presentation.

I'm excited about the progressive work of the HBCU Library Alliance and the opportunity to keep you informed!

Respectfully,

Sandra
