HBCU Library Alliance 8th Membership Meeting and Pre-Conference

Mark your calendars now!

The HBCU Library Alliance is hosting its 8th Membership Meeting in Atlanta on Monday and Tuesday, October 8,9 at the Atlanta University Center Woodruff Library (GA).  The meeting will begin at 9:00 on Monday morning and end by 4:00 on Tuesday afternoon.

The Transforming HBCU Library Alliance: Revisit, Refocus, Reframe is the meeting theme.

The Membership Meeting will be preceded by the IMLS Funded Digital POWRR (Preserving Digital Objects with Restricted Resources) Institute on Saturday and Sunday, October 6,7.

The  ideal candidate for a POWRR institute

  1.  has been exposed to basic digital preservation concepts, and would benefit from more instruction
    
  2.  is a "boots on the ground" staff member, this could be any range of positions in the cultural heritage sector
    
  3.  represents or serves historically under-represented populations
    
  4.  is comfortable with basic technology and would benefit from instruction on more intermediate concepts
    
  5.  would benefit from being a part of a small cohort of professionals like themselves, and will put forth effort into sustaining these professional connections after the end of the Institute.
