DILLARD TO HOST 10TH ANNUAL HOUSING AND HOME IMPROVEMENT FAIR

On Saturday, September 24, 2016, Dillard University's Office of Community Relations will host its 10th Annual Housing and Home Improvement Fair on Dillard's campus in the Professionals Schools Building. The housing fair will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.

The event's co-sponsors include Amerigroup LA, Neighborhood Development Foundation, AARP, Capital One Bank, New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, First NBC, Liberty Bank, Regions Bank, Greater New Orleans Foundation, Whitney Bank, Peoples Health, Daughters of Charity, and Sodexo Dining Services.

Over 70 exhibitors will participate in the Fair. Workshop series will cover such topics as obtaining: Foreclosure prevention options; Managing Your Tuition Debt to Quality for a Home Loan; Obtaining Clear Title to Property; Grants and Low Interest Loans to Purchase Your Home; Reverse Mortgages, and many more. Representatives from the Greater New Orleans Housing Alliance, representing Road Home, will also be on site to answer any questions from residents related to damages as a result of Hurricane Katrina and recent flooding.  The event will also feature several health care service agencies, and medical providers to conduct medical screening, medical insurance enrollment and information on Medicaid and Medicare.

"This event gives local residents the opportunity to meet business representatives in a casual setting that provides valuable information about homeownership as well as business opportunities from reliable sources, " said Nick Harris, director of Dillard University Office of Church and Community Relations.
