VSU Mass Communications presents student photography showcase
Virginia State University's mass communications department is hosting its first photojournalism showcase, featuring the works of current and former students from the department's photojournalism classes. The exhibit, "The Best of Photojournalism," will run weekdays through March 10 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Meredith Art Gallery in Harris Hall. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
The exhibit features creative images by student photographers with varying levels of experience. The curated works are from professors Brandon Green and Ronald E. Carrington's photojournalism classes dating back to 2012. The photographs provide a unique perspective through the lenses of VSU students.

"Our students possess incredible talents, which we are delighted to showcase to our community," said Dr. Ishmail Conway, department chair. "Many of these photos are of comparable quality to those featured in prestigious national art galleries."

The mass communications department and graduate program were created in 2009. It has since become one of the university's most popular majors.
