Text-Giving a New and Easy Way to Invest in ASU's Future
In this day and age, nearly everyone carries a cell phone and now alumni, faculty, staff and supporters can use their mobile devices to give to ASU through the University's new text-giving campaign.
Zillah Fluker, associate vice president for Development, said text-giving is easier, faster and can reach a broader audience than traditional methods of giving.
"We have looked at many different ways to offer people an opportunity to donate to the University. Text-giving has become a convenient and popular way to give. Everyone from President Barack Obama to the American Red Cross has used text-giving to raise funds for important causes," Fluker said.
Brandon McGee Jr., a 2004 graduate, said he was one of the first to take advantage of the new giving initiative.
"It's simple, it's impactful and it just makes sense," said McGee. "I carry my cell phone with me everywhere I go, so taking that one small step to give to my ASU was a no-brainer. As a matter of fact, I plan to commit to do this every month."
