Free Live Webinar:  You Have An Emergency Plan, Now What? Keeping An Emergency Plan Active - Thursday, January 26th, 2017, 2:00 ET
Description:  In this follow-up webinar to the December 2nd "An Introduction to Emergency Planning," session, the presenter will provide tips to keeping an emergency plan active, including suggested staff training exercises, how to effectively work and communicate with emergency responders and managers, and other resources for libraries and archives to turn to while implementing an emergency plan. This presentation will also include guidance on how to navigate insurance and health and safety issues while dealing with a disaster response.
Take Aways: After this training, webinar participants will:

  •     Understand the importance of keeping an emergency plan updated;
    
  •     Know how to plan and conduct staff training events; and
    
  •     Have greater knowledge about how to implement an emergency plan.
    

Suggested Attendees: Librarians, archivists, administrative, maintenance and facilities staff members.
Instructor: As Preservation Specialist at the Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts (CCAHA), Samantha Forsko works with institutions and their collections. She conducts on-site preservation needs and risk assessments and assists with preservation and emergency planning. She also develops and presents educational programs and provides technical information to libraries, archives, museums, historic sites, and other cultural institutions. Before joining CCAHA, Samantha worked at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art as a collections manager. She has also worked as a conservation technician for the Regional Arts and Culture Council and Cascadia Art Conservation Center, both in Portland, Oregon. Samantha received her MA in Arts Management with a focus on Archival and Museum Studies from Claremont Graduate University, in Claremont, California.
