Dr. Margaret Lindsay Morris, associate professor of Spanish at SC State University, was elected to the Executive Board of the College Language Association (CLA) at its annual meeting held in New Orleans, Louisiana from March 27-29.
Dr. Morris was elected foreign language representative for 2014-2016. In this capacity, she will receive proposals from foreign language professors who are CLA members to decide who will appear on the programs in 2015 and 2016.
The College Language Association was founded in 1937 by Dr. Hugh Gloster. Its members are English, French, German, Spanish and Portuguese professors primarily from historically black colleges and universities. Each spring semester, a convention is held in a major city. The 2015 convention is scheduled to be held in Dallas, Texas with a tentative April date.
