Position: Cataloger/Librarian

Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is accepting applications for a Cataloger at the John B. Cade Library.

Brief Description:
Creates and updates catalog records for serial publications; uploads monthly batches; and performs authority work.

Cataloging of materials representing all subject matter and all formats according to RDA, AACR2R, MARC21, Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH), and LC Classification.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree from an ALA-accredited program; should be familiar with an automated library system such as SIRSI, a bibliographic utility such as OCLC and with library technology in general.

Preferred Qualifications:
Two years minimum experience performing original and copy cataloging in an academic library.
