Hampton University's 'The View from Hampton U' Premieres September 1 on Cox Channel 11
Weekly show highlights one of America's premiere universities
In partnership with Cox Business and Cox Channel 11, Hampton University has produced a new television show called "The View from Hampton U." The public affairs program features weekly news, talk, and reality show elements about Hampton University, based in Hampton, Virginia. The show debuts September 1 on Cox Channel 11. It will run each week on Mondays at 5:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at Noon and 5 p.m.

The show is executive produced by HU President William R. Harvey, and Eleanor Earl, Assistant Professor of English and Cinema Studies. Ms. Earl also serves as HU's Cinema Studies Program Coordinator and is a 2009 recipient of the Edward L. Hamm Sr. Distinguished Teaching Award.
"The View from Hampton U will provide a comprehensive look at Hampton University's global research initiatives as well as the academic and student-based programs that we offer," explained President Harvey. "We invite the Hampton Roads community to enjoy the program and get an up-close view of Hampton University."
Show viewers will learn about the school's outstanding academic programs, high caliber faculty, groundbreaking research and record-shattering athletics programs. And co-hosts model/actor Aaron Davis and HU student Kiva Smith bring unique experiences and perspectives to the program. Ms. Earl, who is also the director of the show, noted, "Aaron and Kiva will captivate audiences with their in-studio interviews and on-location coverage of exciting happenings and engaging people that make our 'Home by the Sea' what it is -- a world class institution of higher learning."
