Good afternoon:

The following link was sent to Janice Franklin, PhD (Dean of Libraries and Learning Resources, Alabama State Univ.), Elsie Weatherington, PhD (Retired Dean of Libraries Virginia State Univ.) and me,  by Emma Perry (Retired Dean, Libraries Southern Univ. Baton Rouge). The four of us and Tommy Holton, deceased Dean of libraries at Dillard University, comprise the original leadership group of Library Deans/Directors for the HBCULA, even before we were a formal group.)  I thought it worth sharing with you if you have not already seen/heard this lecture.  She give the history and then hits some very high and impactful moments about 15 minutes into the lecture, enjoy.

Wondering aloud…..Can we find ways to keep it alive and share this critical content more widely?

As librarians and archivists, we have reason to be Proud and must use the power of authentic information to bring others to this same point!

Take care.

Subject: Hello

Hope all is well
I had to share the link below with you and you absolutely have to listen to it when your schedule permits. Janice, you may have seen it, but if not, you will enjoy it. Never heard anyone else explain the history and value of HBCUS as she does.  Well worth watching!  You will be impressed!  Share as you deem appropriate.
