Clark Atlanta University News October 20, 2020 Clark Atlanta University Receives PPE Donation from Lowe’s Home Improvements Clark Atlanta University receives $10,000 worth of personal protective equipment (PPE) from Lowe’s Home Improvement as part of the company’s community outreach and support of higher education program. The donation will help the university continue its efforts to help mitigate the COVID-19 virus on campus and to ensure all required safety precautions. The items donated include: sneeze guard plastic shields, arrow signage, automatic paper towel dispensers, wipe dispensers, and high capacity trash containers. “Lowe’s wanted to partner with a longstanding historically black college and university (HBCU) that had truly made a difference in the lives of its students. This is why we selected Clark Atlanta University,” said Debra Harper, eProcurement Sales Manager. Harper worked closely with Brian Cicero, Lowes Pro Sales Manager, and Shelton Anderson, Associate Vice President of Facilities Management, Project Management, and Planning for Clark Atlanta University. “These materials will aid in our efforts to combat COVID in our classrooms, and student services areas across campus. We appreciate Lowe’s being a contributor towards the safety initiatives we are deploying across our campus,” said Anderson. Understanding the rapidly changing circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, Clark Atlanta University leadership decided to offer remote online learning for the Fall 2020 semester. The Administration continues to monitor guidelines and regulations issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), the Governor’s Office, the Georgia Department of Public Health, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the City of Atlanta, and other public health agencies.
