Greetings Colleagues,

I trust you're well.  Today I continue my celebration of civil rights foot soldier Julian Bond. The Tennessee native was on the forefront of the 1960s civil rights movement, and was among activists who demanded equal rights for African-Americans. The former lawmaker also taught at various universities, including Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania.

CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections and Archives: Un-Boxing Hidden HBCU Collections: Revealing the Historical Legacies of HBCUs

The CLIR review panel evaluated 167 proposals and notified us that our "Un-Boxing Hidden HBCU Collections: Revealing the Historical Legacies of HBCUs" did not receive a score sufficient to permit advancing to the final proposal round.

CLIR seeks funding for the Hidden Collections program on an annual basis and a prospective 2016 cycle will not be confirmed until December 2015.  CLIR hopes to begin soliciting new applications in early 2016 and would welcome our submission with an effective response to reviewers' concerns. There is no guarantee, however, that our revised proposal would be selected.

Thanks again to everyone who expressed interest and assisted with the project.

I'll keep you informed.

Respectfully,

Sandra
