JHJ School of Business Maintains Prestigious AACSB Business Accreditation

The Jesse H. Jones School of Business at Texas Southern University has maintained its business accreditation by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer bachelors, masters, and doctorate degrees in business and accounting.

Dr. Ron Johnson, Dean, Jesse H. Jones School of Business, commented, "The reaffirmation is testament to the ingenuity, team spirit, commitment, and the vibrancy of the faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends of the School. It is also a reflection of the level of support and sponsorship that both of you have provided to the School."

The Jesse H. Jones School of Business, now in its 57th year, remains one of only 5% of programs worldwide that have earned AACSB International Accreditation. Overall, 43 countries and territories are represented by AACSB-accredited schools. To maintain accreditation a business program must undergo a rigorous internal review every five years, at which the program must demonstrate its continued commitment to the 21 quality standards relating to faculty qualification, strategic management of resources, interactions of faculty and students, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement and achievement of learning goals in degree programs. (For information on the global distribution of accredited programs, visit: www.aacsb.edu/accreditation/accreditedmembers.asphttp://www.aacsb.edu/accreditation/accreditedmembers.asp)

"It takes a great deal of self-evaluation and determination to earn and maintain AACSB Accreditation," said Jerry Trapnell, vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International. "Schools not only must meet specific standards of excellence, but their deans, faculty, and staff must make a commitment to ongoing improvement to ensure continued delivery of high-quality education to students."

The JHJ School of Business' achievement will be recognized April 29th at the 2012 AACSB International Conference and Annual Meeting in San Diego, California, USA.
