SURGICAL TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM AWARDED ACCREDITATION
The Lincoln University Surgical Technology program has been awarded national accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. The university has offered the program for three years, after acquiring it from St. Mary's Health Center. This is the first accreditation process the program has undergone as part of Lincoln University. The accreditation lasts for ten years.
Surgical technologists' key role is to prepare the operating room prior to surgery and provide the surgeon with sterile supplies during surgery. Graduates of the Surgical Technology program at Lincoln University earn an Associate of Applied Science degree, making them eligible to test for national certification as a surgical technologist.
