Purdue University is seeking a dynamic individual with a passion for teaching, both online and in-person, to be an Engineering Information Specialist. This is a new job, funded by the University as part of the expansion to the College of Engineering and acknowledging the role the libraries play in the engineering curriculum, preparing students to be lifelong learners and informed problem solvers.

Some Key duties include:

  • Engage in information literacy instruction and collaboration

  • Provide leadership in developing online learning content for the Physical Sciences, Engineering, and Technology Division

  • Design, develop, and maintain a library of digital materials to support information literacy in the online environment

  • Develop assessment on the effectiveness of online learning objects

  • Participate in interdisciplinary, collaborative research projects

  • Liaison between two to four schools in the College of Engineering

The Engineering Information Specialist position will provide an opportunity to explore new technologies and their application to maximize the impact for the rapidly expanding online information literacy instruction across the Physical Sciences, Engineering, and Technology (PSET) Division of the Purdue Libraries. Sharing the research and learning done in as part of the job are expected as part of librarians having tenure-track faculty status and the need to fulfil the university requirements for promotion and tenure.
