B-CU Continues to Expand Academic and Scholarship Opportunities for Military Students

Dr. Gale Gibson Gayle, Chief Online Learning Officer has been selected as a member of the 64th class of the prestigious United States Army War College (USAWC) - National Security Seminar (NSS) to be held at Carlisle Barracks, June 3-7th, 2018. Over the past year B-CU Global Online College has been intentional in the significant amount of work done to enhance the role of Military Academic Initiatives such as FLYCA, GEM Online - US Air Force, Minute Man Scholarships, Revitalization of the Credit by Exams via Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES), Concurrent Admissions Program (ConAP) Army Recruiting, CollegeRecon.Com - American Legion Virtual, and B-CU's recognition as a Military Friendly School.
"I am honored to have been selected to be a member of the 64th class of the prestigious United States Army War College (USAWC) - National Security Seminar (NSS)," Dr. Gayle shared. "As B-CU continues to expand academics and scholarship opportunities for military students, participation in the USAWC - NSS will increase my understanding of the contributions made by military members and their families," she added. Through the nomination of the Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army, Mr. Allie Braswell, and the comprehensive application process, Dr. Gayle was designated for this honorable recognition. "I look forward to representing Bethune-Cookman University in the same manner and with the same passion as Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune did when she served in the Women's Army Corps," said Dr. Gayle.
The four-day session will provide insights into our country security issues in order to advocate and provide an effective approach to addressing military member's challenges in the higher education, in the community and across the network of historically Black colleges and universities. The War College is the Army's center for strategic thought and delivers senior-level professional education to personnel from all the Armed Forces and select civilian national security professionals.
