Morehouse Celebrates African American Church Music - WABE, 90.1 NPR Atlanta

The Morehouse Department of Music celebrated the music of the African American church during the two-day conference "How Sweet The Song: 2nd Ecumenical Celebration of Music in the Black Church."

It's partly a conference - with workshops to help musicians brush up on their skills. It's also part celebration - since it seeks to connect attendees with the legacy of African-American Christian music.

Uzee Brown '72, chairman of the Department of Music, spoke to WABE-Atlanta about the conference and the legacy of music in the African American church during an interview on the National Public Radio show, "City Lights" on Friday, Sept. 9.
