HBCU Library Alliance 10th Membership Meeting - REGISTER NOW!!!

Greetings Colleagues,

I trust you're well and in good spirits!

The HBCU Library Alliance eagerly announces its 10th Membership Meeting, themed "The HBCU Library Alliance: Empowering our Members to Face the Future of Democracy and Education." Scheduled from Sunday, October 27, 2024, to Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Southern University and A&M College (LA), the event promises insightful discussions and strategic planning to advance the organization's mission. This will be the first face-to-face membership meeting since 2018. Dr. Marybeth Gasmanhttps://cmsi.gse.rutgers.edu/content/marybeth-gasman, Executive Director of the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Institute for Leadership, Equity & Justice, and the Rutgers University Center for Minority Serving Institutions (NJ), will deliver the keynote address.

The Membership meeting will begin with a Sunday, October 27 pre-conference scheduled from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for a select group of attendees. The pre-conference is made possible with grant funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities and will cover travel expenses and provide per diems for selected attendees. The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is an independent federal agency created in 1965. It is one of the largest funders of humanities programs in the United States. More information about the application process will be made available soon.

Thanks to HBCU Library Alliance Board Member and Working Group Chair Dawn Kight, Southern University and A&M College (LA), and dedicated working group members Del Hornbuckle, Howard University (DC), Sam Johnson, Wilberforce University (OH), Ondrea Murphy, Delaware State University, Sophia Sotilleo, Bowie State University (MD), and Locord Wilson, Jackson State University (MS). Their hard work and commitment will be instrumental in shaping this event.
