Cornelius Graves Selected to Participate in Fellows Program
Cornelius Graves, interim director of government and community relations at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU), is one of 20 people who have been selected to participate in the Fall Class of the Institute of Political Leadership’s Fellows Program.
The Institute is a multi-partisan, non-profit research and educational institution designed to develop the skills of North Carolina citizens with potential to be future political leaders at the state and local levels. The Fellows Program provides a series of seminars and hands-on activities dealing with such topics as communication, public policy issues and governing. Key officials, political scientists, business leaders and other professionals also take part in the sessions to provide insights into the dynamics and demands of governing.
Graves joined WSSU in June of this year after having served as a research assistant to State Sen. Linda Garrou, who represents the 32nd District. He also had served as a staff member on several campaign committees for General Assembly candidates. Graves earned his undergraduate degree from Howard University and his Juris Doctorate degree from Southern University Law Center. He serves on the board of advisors for the “Super Men’ Male Initiative, on the board of the North Carolina Diversity Council, and as an alternate representative on the Guilford County Board of Adjustment.
