SU to host seminar for tax preparers and CPAs

Southern University’s Louisiana Small Business Development Center will sponsor the tax seminar, “2011 Updates for Tax Preparers and CPAs” from 9 a.m. – noon on Thursday, Oct. 27.

The seminar will be held at the Louisiana Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, 4655 Sherwood Common Blvd.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $10 per person and can be paid at the door.

Representatives from the Internal Revenue Service, the Louisiana Department of Revenue, and the Social Security Administration will address recent updates affecting how tax preparers and practitioners do business.

Topics covered during the seminar will include:

Wage Reporting
Electronic Services
New Adjusted 94X Forms
Changes for the 2011 Tax Year
Due Diligence
Advance registration is required due to limited seating.
