Spring 2013 arts events have begun
Hinds Community College has a number of arts events coming up in the spring. Mississippi and the Arts Week activities, March 23 and March 25-28, will be covered in a later release.
They include:
Today-Jan. 31 International Women's Air and Space Museum Exhibit, McLendon Library, Raymond Campus
Today-Feb. 22 Chatham Meade Kemp, "Explorations of Color and Paint" exhibit, Marie Hull Gallery, Raymond Campus; gallery hours: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday-Thursday; 8 a.m.- noon, Friday.
Feb. 4-28 Black History Month Display, McLendon Library, Raymond Campus
Feb. 4-28 Jazz Display, McLendon Library, Raymond Campus
Feb. 26 & 27 7 p.m. The Montage Theatre of Dance presents "The Dance of Egypt: The Story of Moses" at Cain-Cochran Hall.
March 4 - March 28 John Robichaux, Sherry Hager and Cathy Lutz exhibit "Colors of Light: A Continual Study"; Marie Hull Gallery, Denton Art Building Raymond Campus; gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday-Thursday; 8 a.m. to noon, Friday.

March 6-28 National Nutrition Month display, McLendon Library, Raymond Campus
March 7 7 p.m. Wind Ensemble Concert, free admission, Cain-Cochran Hall, Raymond Campus
April 11 7 p.m. Wind Ensemble and Concert Band performance, $5 admission; Cain-Cochran Hall, Raymond Campus
April 9-May 8 Hinds Community College Fine Art and Graphic Art Student Show and Competition; Reception, 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., April 9; exhibit, gallery hours: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday-Thursday; 8 a.m.- noon, Friday.
April 16 7 p.m. Hinds Community College Dance Montage Theatre of Dance has the Spring Dance Concert at Cain-Cochran Hall
April 23-25 7 p.m. Lendon Players' spring production is "Arsenic and Old Lace"; Brooks Theatre, Raymond Campus; house opens at 6:30 p.m. and show begins at 7 p.m. for all performances. Hinds CC students with a valid ID may purchase tickets for $2 in the Speech and Theatre Dept.; tickets at the door, $5 for adults and general admission, $3 student admission and free for Hinds faculty and staff with a valid ID.
