Greetings Colleagues,
I trust this e-mail finds you well. Today I'm celebrating the HBCU Library Alliance membership! I am so pleased with your interest and involvement in Alliance activities. And I'm even more pleased with your response rate to my communications.
HBCU Library Alliance By-Laws
Voting opens tomorrow, Friday, September 2nd , and ends on Friday, September 16th to amend the HBCU Library Alliance Bylaws. Bylaws have been revised to extend the term of the Past Chair from one year to two years, with appointment as chairperson of a fundraising committee. The fundraising committee will also include the Chair, the Vice Chair and Program Director. As the HBCU Library Alliance strategically moves towards sustainability, a formalized group of officers who are developing relationships with funders increases our likelihood to acquire grants and secure new funding sources. The proposed revision would give the HBCU Library Alliance Board of Directors consistent membership on the Fundraising committee to develop relationships with prospective donors. This revision also enables a supported transfer of funding relationships across the HBCU leadership.
The proposed amendments were forwarded to the membership on Monday, August 1st. For your convenience, they are attached below.
