Stokes Health Sciences Library Celebrates Library Week
During the week of April 13-19, the Louis Stokes Health Sciences Library will join libraries in communities nationwide in celebrating National Library Week, a time to highlight the value of libraries, librarians and library workers.
Louis Stokes Health Sciences Library is celebrating the week with several workshops and a "Food for Fines" program to lower library fines. The events include a "Negotiating the Publishing the Contract" workshop with Sha-Shana Crichton, an Assistant Professor of Lawyering Skills and Interim Director of the Legal Writing Program at Howard University School of Law. The workshop will take place in Stokes on Thursday, April 17 at 12:30 p.m.
Stokes is also offering fine reductions in its "Food for Fines" program. During National Library Week, participants who donate canned goods or other non-perishable food items received $1 off any Stokes library fine up to $10. To participate, drop items off at the circulation desk.
Other workshops include: "Nutrition Databases" on Monday, April 14 at 12:30 p.m.; "BioInformatics 101" on Tuesday, April 15 at 12:30 p.m.; "Intro to SPSS" on Friday, April 18 at 2 p.m.
