Vice President Joe Biden to Join Morehouse College Action Event to End Sexual Violence on College Campuses

ATLANTA- Vice President Joe Biden will visit Morehouse College on Tuesday, November 10, to mobilize students to take action to prevent sexual assault on college campuses. The Vice President's stop at Morehouse will mark the "It's On Us" campaign started last year by the Obama administration.

In September 2014, the administration unveiled "It's On Us," in partnership with Generation Progress at the Center for American Progress. The campaign seeks to reframe the conversation surrounding sexual assault in a way that inspires everyone to see it as his or her responsibility to do something, big or small, to prevent it.

"At Morehouse, our students are shifting the way they think and talk about sexual assault. They realize that the solution to end sexual assaults starts with each one of them," said Morehouse President John Silvanus Wilson. The conversations and education on sexual assault taking place at Morehouse align perfectly with the administration's initiative to root out sexual and domestic violence wherever they exist, Wilson offered.

"We are excited to welcome Morehouse College to a movement that is gaining traction at a critical time in our lives," said Anne Johnson, executive director of the "It's On Us campaign." Morehouse College joins more than 300 schools to launch the "It's On Us" campaign.
