West Virginia State University Extension Service to Host 4-H Day Camp for Pre-school Youths
West Virginia State University (WVSU) Extension Service will host a free half-day 4-H camp this summer for pre-school youths ages 3-5 called Little Growers: Frontiers. Sessions will take place monthly throughout the summer on the University's Institute campus, focusing on environmental education and activities.
Session topics and dates are as follows:
June 10: Oceans
July 1: Desert, Tundra and Polar Habitats
August 5: Space
"This camp is an opportunity for participants to engage with hands-on activities about the least-explored regions of Earth and beyond," said WVSU 4-H Extension Agent Tabitha Surface. "Youths will be able to move freely between stations centered around that day's theme, gaining enrichment in science inquiry, math, art, literacy and more."
Accompanying family members are invited to participate with campers in experiential learning activities such as story times, walkthroughs of a pop-up planetarium, and the creation of simulated snow and constellations.
All sessions will take place from 9 a.m. to noon in WVSU's Fleming Hall.
Little Growers: Frontiers is free to attend, but space is limited. Registration is required and available online at wvstateu.edu/summerhttp://www.wvstateu.edu/summer.
