2011 President's Gala: "A Great Moment in Time"

University alumni and partners will have the opportunity to share "A Great Moment in Time" during the 2011 President's Gala on July 22, 2011, at 7 p.m. in the Dunn-Oliver Acadome. Gala tickets and sponsorships are ready for purchase through the Gala website at www.asugala.com.

The 2011 President's Gala is a black-tie, formal event which will be held on July 22, 2011, to highlight University accomplishments and raise money for the Trust for Educational Excellence.

"The Gala is the cornerstone of our fundraising initiative for the Trust for Educational Excellence," said Zillah Fluker, Associate Vice President for Development. "While we have seen significant growth in the Trust, we must continue to seek investments because of the value that the Trust brings in supporting scholarships and lectureships, and providing unrestricted funds to support key academic initiatives."

The inaugural President's Gala was held in 2010. It was an evening of elegance and entertainment, as hundreds of ASU alumni, partners and members of the Montgomery community turned out to show their support of the University and the work of the Trust.

Giving to the Trust is an ongoing process. The Gala serves as a grand opportunity to assess the status of the Trust each year.

"The Gala is an annual mile marker to review the progress we're making in terms of growth, not only for the Trust, but also for other giving areas at Alabama State University," said Fluker. "It's also an opportunity to acknowledge our donors and to cultivate new constituents."

Tickets for the Gala are ready for purchase at $150 each. ASU supporters may also purchase tables or participate as corporate sponsors.

"We've made it very simple for our alumni and partners to participate this year. The official Gala website has the latest information about the various ways to become involved, and payments may be made online," added Fluker.
