Arkansas Baptist College
Director of Library Services
Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer, the Director of Library Services is responsible for the administrative oversight and operational proficiency for all library services for the college.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Greets, assists, and refers faculty, staff, and students according to their needs
Develops, interprets, and enforces library operating policies, practices, and procedures
Ensures library resources meet the needs of the college through on-going assessment
Hires, supervises, and trains library staff
Oversees the acquisition of latest in hardware, and software --databases, APPs, etc.
Negotiates and compiles licenses and contract related to library resources
Enters into consortia agreements with other library organizations in order to expand services (reciprocal borrowing agreements)
Explains use of library facilities, resources, equipment, and services, and provides information about library policies
Confers with faculty, staff, and students to conduct informational programs, make collection decisions and determine library services to offer
Codes, classifies, and catalogs books, publications, films, audiovisual aids, and other library materials based on subject matter or standard library classification systems
Other duties as assigned
Minimum qualifications:
Master's degree in Library Science or related discipline plus three years experience
Knowledge of principles and practice of library science and library administration
Knowledge of computer and library related software
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
Salary is negotiable.

Media Services Librarian/Web Coordinator (T3)
Reporting to the Title III Library Activity Director, the Media Services Librarian/Web Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of information technology services for the college.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Greets, assists, and refers faculty, staff, and students according to their needs
Develops, interprets, and enforces library operating policies, practices, and procedures
Ensures library electronic resources meet the needs of the college through on-going assessment
Assists in hiring, supervising, and training library staff
Oversees the acquisition of latest in hardware, and software --databases, APPs, etc.
Negotiates and compiles licenses and contracts related to library resources
Enters into consortia agreements with other library organizations in order to expand technical services (reciprocal borrowing agreements)
Explains use of library facilities, resources, equipment, and services, and provides information about library policies
Confers with faculty, staff, and students to conduct informational programs, make collection decisions and determine library services to offer
Manages hardware, software films, audiovisual aids, and other library materials based on subject matter or standard library classification systems
Other duties as assigned
