Responsibilities: The Instructional Technology Librarian will focus on providing information literacy instruction to first-year and undergraduate transfer students and will work with faculty and campus partners to support the University's emphasis on undergraduate research and career readiness. The Instructional Technology Librarian will work collaboratively with other librarians to cultivate partnerships with faculty to develop and deliver services that support the university's teaching, learning, and research activities. The incumbent will deliver content both in-person, in a blended teaching style combining online and in-person learning, and in a fully online environment. The Instructional Technology Librarian will take the lead in developing the library's transition to a more innovative and collaborative learning space, which will increasingly incorporate technology, Maker spaces, and team projects and initiatives. Assist with reimaging these spaces and propose opportunities to use them to further engage with faculty, students, and community members, plan library events or lifelong learning sessions, and promote library services. This position reports to the Director of Library Services.

Qualifications: Requires a Master of Master of Management in Library and Information Science (MUS) or equivalent degree from an American Library Associated-accredited institution with focused coursework in information literacy and technology. Ability to work effectively with faculty, students, and staff in a diverse and inclusive research community. Strong comfort level with teaching; effective strong written and oral communication skills. Experience in library resources, databases, current trends, and best practices. Enthusiasm for learning new and continuing library innovations; comfortable with learning new technologies and emerging digital trends. Ability to participate in library outreach and marketing initiatives. Experience, or interest, in educational technology planning, implementation, and assessment. Ability to use or learn Microsoft Office products, and online meeting tools including Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Ability to use content management tools like Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc. Strong customer service skills. Availability to work nights and/or weekends, as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with, or experience using, project management tools such as Asana, Trello, Microsoft Projects, or Slack.
Familiarity with Canvas and other learning management tools.
Familiarity with 3D Printing technology, podcasts, and Maker spaces Experience with grant writing and management.
Experience working in an academic library. After proper training,
Experience with, or ability to learn, common library technology, systems, or research tools (e.g., OCLC, LibGuides, Ex-Libris Alma, Zotero, and equivalents).

Responsibilities: The Digital Initiatives and Resources Librarian will explore collaborations with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners to lead innovative digital initiatives that support the university and the library's mission to improve undergraduate research and career readiness. This position supports the discovery of and access to the James B. Duke Memorial Library's digital content, including websites, electronic databases, e-books, off-campus learning tools, and social media. The incumbent will also work closely with University Archives and Circulation to assist with creating and managing metadata for the library's Digital Smith online archives and the OCLC library management system. The Digital Initiatives and Resources Librarian will advocate for funding, training, and promotion of digital projects and library technology, and will oversee data protection and security for library resources and initiatives. This position will also contribute to campus discussions about information literacy, faculty and research services, and innovative online scholarship in a modern library environment.  The Digital Initiatives and Resources Librarian reports to the Director of Librarian Services.

Qualifications: Requires a Master's degree from an ALA-accredited library and information science program or equivalent experience managing websites and digital content and data protection and security.  Interest in an aptitude for learning new technologies, best practices and emerging library trends in digital initiatives. Aptitude with using library databases, software, and resources in a physical and remote setting. Self-motivation, project management skills, and the ability to multi-task with competing deadlines.  Strong commitment to user-centered library service and the ability to work flexibly and creatively in a changing and fast-paced environment.  Familiarity with remote learning tools like Canvas, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc. Experience with social media, marketing and promotion, and library outreach. Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability and flexibility to work independently or in a team setting in many different library and university roles.
