ECSU’s Annemarie Delgado Named President of the North Carolina Society of Research Administrators

Elizabeth City State University’s Director of Sponsored Programs, Annemarie Delgado, has assumed the duties of President for the North Carolina Society of Research Administrators.

The NC-SRA is the North Carolina Chapter for the Society of Research Administrators International (SRA International). The SRA International is a global research management society providing education, professional development and comprehensive information about research management to over 5,000 members from over 40 countries.

The NC-SRA is comprised of all University of North Carolina System constituent institutions, as well as other private research and medical organizations.

Ms. Delgado has over 20 years of experience in research administration and research development.

Prior to her work at ECSU, she served as the Director of Sponsored Programs at Eastern Virginia Medical School, Director of Sponsored Programs at Wentworth Institute of Technology, and Associate Director of Sponsored Programs at Norfolk State University.  She has also held positions in research administration at Old Dominion University Research Foundation.

Ms. Delgado holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Framingham State University, a master’s in public administration and a master’s in English, both from Old Dominion University.  In addition, she is a Certified Research Administrator, Certified Pre-Award Research Administrator, and past-president of Virginia Society for Research Administrators. She is also a graduate of the Grace E. Harris Leadership Institute at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Ms. Delgado recently served on a panel discussion with representatives from Predominately Undergraduate Institutions (PUIs) for the National Organization of Research Development Professionals.
