Drake State Awards Scholarship to Junior League Butterfly

The Junior League of Huntsville has been promoting the Butterfly Project since 2005 as one of its most inspiring projects.  The project committee works with thirteen area schools to find deserving young ladies with high scholastic aptitude, but also with a challenging story and past.  In cooperation with local colleges, scholarship recipients are chosen to receive awards ranging from $250 to over $12,000 to attend college.

This year, J.F. Drake State was there to award their scholarship, along with UA Huntsville, Calhoun Community College, Snead State Community College, Salon Professional Academy, and The Jerry Damson Family.

The proud recipient of a one semester scholarship to J.F. Drake State is Charisse Hogan of Bob Jones High School.  Charisse has overcome several physical disabilities to become an outstanding student and an inspiration to her classmates.  Drake State is proud to welcome her to our family!!
