Greetings Colleagues,

I trust you're well.  Today I'm celebrating Private First Class William H. Thomas, who in 1951 became the first African-American to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor. During the Korean War, Thomas sacrificed his life to allow the rest of his unit to escape a group of enemy soldiers. Thomas received the Medal of Honor for actions while serving in a segregated unit.

Board Chair Cynthia Henderson and I have been asked to present on October 29th.  The Digital Library Federation (DLF) is a program of the Council of Library and Information Resources (CLIR) and serves as a catalyst for collaboration among digital library developers and those invested in digital library issues.
