Greeting Colleagues,

Angel Pridgen, American Baptist College (TN), Director of Library Services, shares the following highlights about the Susie McClure Library:

Susie McClure Library of American Baptist College (ABC) solidifies partnership with Nashville Public Library (NPL) to provide limitless options to provide academic support. Students have the ability to check out over 100 items at a time, use interlibrary loan, the newly implemented library of things to check out sewing machines, blood pressure monitors and more! Syreeta Butler, Coordinator of the Nashville Public Library-Limitless Libraries Program, Annie Herlocker, Branch Manager of NPL's Bordeaux location, and Darlene Jones, Circulation Manager Bordeaux location, and NPL's Library Director Terri Luke have been supportive of the initiative and committed to bridging access to ABC students.

Susie McClure Library of American Baptist College gained acceptance in Baker & Taylor's Sustainable Shelves Program. Angel Pridgen, Director of Library Services, expresses this is a small step in a much larger vision to replace 90% of the collection with newly updated books to support the academic programming at ABC. The Sustainable Shelves Program provides sustainable recycling while giving book credits to libraries to utilize to purchase titles that fit their collections. Ms. Pridgen expressed, "Students are very excited at the possibility of checking out updated books within their college library, and I hope they continue to remain excited".

Susie McClure Library of American Baptist College has a successful fundraiser with Jeni's Ice Cream. Director of Library Services, Angel Pridgen expresses gratitude to Jeni's Ice Cream's assistance. Funds generated will be used towards the purchasing of new titles for the library.

Dr. Susie McClure, a former member of American Baptist's College Board of Trustees, namesake and committed supporter of the Susie McClure Library, passed away at the age of 107, February 15th-Nashville, TN.
