President Obama Nominates JSU alum for United States Attorney
President Barack Obama has nominated Jackson State University alum and Assistant U.S. Attorney Felicia C. Adams as U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Mississippi.
Adams has been an assistant U.S. attorney since 2000 in the state's Southern District. From 1989 to 2000, she held that position in the Northern District.
She graduated from Jackson State in 1981 and from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1984. She was a federal law clerk in Tennessee for two years. From 1988 until 1989, she was legal counsel to the Mississippi governor's office.
Obama says she has shown an unwavering commitment to justice throughout her career.
Nominees for U.S. attorney must be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
