Respectfully, LaTasha The African American Subject Funnel Project<https://acrl.libguides.com/c.php?g=761433&p=7312552> Every year, the African American Subject Funnel Project<https://acrl.libguides.com/c.php?g=761433&p=7312552> creates and updates Library of Congress Subject Headings related to African American culture and history. In the 2022-2023 academic year, the funnel participated in two large projects. (1) The group successfully added Historically Black colleges and universities and related terms as subject authorities and (2) In collaboration with the Library of Congress, the group completed a project to change the term Slaves to Enslaved persons. For additional information on the recent work of the Funnel please see the attached Annual Report. Interested in contributing to this work? Members of ACRL/AASLIG can join the effort! You do not have to be a cataloger to participate. All librarians, library staff, and students are invited to use their skills to help further the work of the group by providing general input, conducting research, or helping with outreach. We rely on the expertise of people who are committed to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging work to help us look at Library of Congress Subject Headings with a critical eye.
