Southern University to host Technology Awareness Program
Southern University College of Engineering will host the Technology Awareness Program (TAP), sponsored by Career Communications Groups, Inc., for 9-12 grade students from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., July 10-12.
The three-day summer camp is free and open to high school students in the Baton Rouge area. The TAP program is being held at Southern for the second time.
During the camp students will be exposed to careers in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. Speakers from top government agencies, Fortune 500 companies and University admissions office will detail the benefits and pathways to becoming a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) professional.
Students will sit in on sessions focused on college preparation, leadership skills and tips for leading a successful life.
The camp will end with a tour of Southern's campus and students will talk with representatives from admissions and other campus departments.
Career Communications Group, Inc., located in Baltimore, Md., promotes achievement in STEM professional careers. CCG is a social media company that inspires and promotes excellence in youth by telling the stories of the thousands of unheralded people striving for success.
