NSU Hosts the Commonwealth of Virginia Superintendent Hampton Roads Roundtable

President Adams-Gaston welcomed guests to the campus of Norfolk State University for the Commonwealth of Virginia Superintendent Hampton Roads Roundtable.

The roundtable featured business leaders from Hampton Roads Chambers of Commerce, Workforce Development, Faculty Scholars from the NSU School of Education, and the Urban League, along with local School Superintendents and representatives to discuss solutions to absenteeism, talent pipeline development, and collaboration with industry for career readiness preparation in public schools.

School representatives from Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk, and Newport News, along with the leadership from the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, Black Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Asian American Chamber of Commerce, were present to identify issues in the pipeline and discuss how to create collaborative opportunities with the Virginia Superintendent Lisa Coons.
