Bethune-Cookman University August 24, 2017 B-CU Students Promote HBCU Excellence through Scholarship and Legacy Most recently, Arthur Wright, a Junior Finance student received a $2500.00 Frank Boulware, Sr. Legacy Scholarship. The Frank Boulware, Sr. Legacy Scholarship is an academic and community excellence scholarship is designed to honor exceptional students classified as college juniors or seniors enrolled at an HBCU, who embody Frank Boulware Sr.'s legacy of excellence in one's studies and profession, love of oneself, love of one's family, and love of one's community. Among many qualified applicants, the selection became rigorous. However, Arthur Wright exemplified those characteristics and received the award which is given through the Sankofa Village Project, Inc. Frank Boulware, Sr. was a scholar, professional athlete, patriot, community leader and successful entrepreneur and business Owner. Among other titles, Mr. Boulware proudly wore husband, father and grandfather which displayed his greatest love and accomplishment as he understood that building strong villages - strong communities start at home. He was the late father to Joy Boulware Mack, Founder of The Sankofa Village Project and Dr. Jan Boulware, Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Bethune-Cookman University. "We are in great anticipation to see what titles the outstanding Arthur Wright will add to his own cap as a future graduate from B-CU and the manifestation of our university's motto of one who entered to learn, and will depart to serve his community well," said Dr. Jan Boulware. In addition to a 4.0 GPA, Arthur volunteers extensively throughout his community. His ultimate goal is to open a local brokerage firm in Daytona Beach with a branch specifically designated for community outreach. In that outreach, he would educate school aged children about the virtues of saving and investing money for life-long wealth building.
