Subject: Message from Board Member Dr. Tasha Lucas-Youmans - HBCU Library Alliance Draft Strategic Plan (Do Not Respond to List)
Dear Members,
The Board of Directors of the HBCU Library Alliance is excited to present a draft Strategic Plan that will guide the Alliance's priorities over the next five years. The plan highlights a new vision for transforming the HBCU Library Alliance into a definitive voice of advocacy for its member institutions.
The draft plan addresses the following four (4) priority areas:
Membership: Cultivate an inclusive HBCU Library Alliance positioned as the premier organization that fosters membership support, engagement and collaboration.
Professional Development: Provide skill development/continuing education as the primary source for professional development in leadership, preservation and digital scholarship for HBCU libraries, while capitalizing on member expertise.
Finance: Foster the financial health of the HBCU Library Alliance through fundraising, legacy funds, services and membership dues.
Network: Establish the HBCU Library Alliance as an organization that actively engages and encourages partnerships to provide leadership in the pursuit of excellence for teaching, research and learning.
To achieve the full potential of this plan, we will need broad-based support from all member institutions. As such, the Board is requesting your review and feedback of the attached plan no later than Monday, February 12th. The Board will review the information and based on collective responses, will present a final plan to the membership on Thursday, February 15th, 10:30 ET via the GoToMeeting platform.
Please return your comments to me directly at youmanst@cookman.edumailto:youmanst@cookman.edu no later than Monday, February 12th.
Your interest in the HBCU Library Alliance is appreciated. We look forward to hearing from you and working together to build a stronger and more vibrant Alliance.
Sincerely,
Tasha Lucas Youmans, Ph.D.
