Greetings Colleagues,

I trust you're well. The HBCU Library Alliance Board is proposing bylaws amendments that will impact membership, governance and committees. As you recall, we shared communications via the distribution lists in late 2016 and have hosted forums to address member concerns.

In accordance with the HBCU Library Alliance Bylaws, Article VII, Section A, amendments to the Bylaws must be sent at least thirty (30) days in advance of the vote and approved by a two-thirds majority of those casting a ballot.  Each member in good standing shall be entitled to one vote.

Attached to this e-mail are the following materials:

HBCU Library Alliance Bylaws 2012 is a word document of the current Bylaws.

HBCU Library Alliance Bylaws 2017 is a pdf document of the current Bylaws including recommendations saved in tracked changes format.

Explanation of Revisions is a word document briefly describing the recommendations.

On Friday, May 12th, members in good standing will receive an electronic voting ballot. Voting will open on Monday, May 15th and close on Friday, May 19th. Results will be shared with the membership on Monday, May 22nd.

If you have questions, contact me directly at sphoenix@hbculibraries.orgmailto:sphoenix@hbculibraries.org or at 404-978-2118.

Your continued support of the HBCU Library Alliance is appreciated.

Sandra
